News Archive: Log Books developed 2001-2002

During this period we developed our log books: the Dog Log and the Cat a Log. The aim of these books was to maximum compliance for all our pet owners.

Preventive health care was very much the theme. Having had a close association with out vaccine manufacturer Intervet, and Novartis, the manufacturer of the Program range of products, we designed a book which incorporated all the relevant topics that we considered should be at the top of the agenda at first puppy and kitten vaccination , as well as at routine annual health check and booster vaccination time.

Topics such as proper nutrition, preventive flea care, worming, insurance, microchipping, weight control and the care of the older pet have been addressed. Peculiar to our practice is our grooming centre and the log book also affords the opportunity to talk about the importance of grooming, as well as skin and coat care.

The books have a strong corporate theme and we incorporated our logo and corporate colours throughout. Practicing preventive health care has certainly brought its rewards, particular in terms of flea prevention and the use of program product.

Because our clients associate the book with the practice and their pets, they value it more than just the ordinary generic vaccination certificate. And because we produced the book ourselves we take pride in making sure that a proper assessment of the pet is made at time of annual routine check up, so that we have covered and offered everything we need to offer our client. Compliance is therefore enhanced substantially, and ultimately our clients get a better service. We are grateful for all the help given to us by Novartis, particularly Kenny Agnew the Scottish sales executive, and the Intervet vaccine company.

From the Log Book we were later to develope the electronic part of the Log Book on our nationwide website Pet Log Book

By registering as a pet owner you have access to this valuable log book 24/7 anywhere in the world from any PC with internet access. There are so many other aspects to the website such as the Lost and Found section , e card facility , and Pet Gallery.
