Jess the boss’s dog has become the 1000th Therapet dog in Scotland.
Therapet is a Scottish charity based in Argyllshire. Therapet is the Scottish quivalent of PAT Dogs or Pets As Therapy in England .
The concept of Therapet and PAT Dogs is to use people friendly pets to help people in life, particularly the old, infirm , and sick. Therapets is run entirely by volunteers who organise visits to hospitals, old people’s homes and hospices. Registered members very often use their own pets, but sometimes other people’s pets as well.
Jess was a regular visitor to an old people’s home in Carronshore. The old folk really used to look forward to her weekly visits. Jess enjoyed very much the extra attention, and the many treats that were usually on offer.
Jess has now retired from the Therapetting scene.
