In March 2000 part of the front area of the Grangemouth clinic was converted to a grooming salon. The grooming aspect of pet health care is a very important one, and the benefit of having this facility under the same roof as a veterinary practice makes sense.


Initially a professional groomer was employed. Later on however the grooming business expanded, and now the groomers have become an integral part of the pet health care service.


Training has allowed the grooming staff to be comfortable giving advice about coat and hair care, dental care, and general advice about worming and flea control.


And if there is a problem that needs immediate veterinary attention, the veterinary staff are there to provide that all important service when the customer needs it most.


Traditional barriers have therefore been broken down, and this has led to greater customer satisfaction , more frequent visits to the centres and ultimately greater care for the animals. Everyone is happy.


There are fewer dogs that are problem cases now when it comes to handling through in the grooming salon. This is because through recommendation puppies have had a natural progression from vaccination, socialisation classes and early visits to the grooming salon to get used to the noise and feel of the grooming equipment,( hair driers, brushes and such like).
