News Archive: Practice Wins Veterinary Business Journals Website prize Otober 1999

We were very proud to win 4th prize in the Veterinary Business Journal’s website competition. We had set up our own website back in April 1998. It was a project that had been undertaken by Marianne Syre, our assistant vet at the time. Marianne had a great interest in computers. Her father was a computer engineer and Marianne had more or less grown up surrounded by the dynamic computer revolution.

The downside of this, however, was that when Marianne left the practice in late 1999 we were left without a “techie” to manage and update the website. It was going to be sometime before we would manage to get internet technology and computers tamed as it were, so that we could manage ourselves “in- house”.

Marianne later came back to the practice to train Gillian, one of our veterinary nurses to manage the website, but again the whole set up failed when Gillian left the practice to have a baby.

It was only later on around 2005 that technology became available that allowed individuals, without any knowledge of computers and coding websites, to actually do it simply themselves.

This has been the critical turning point in the technology revolution. It has led to this website you are looking at just now being updated regularly by a complete internet novice, very simply and easily. Amazing stuff. And what’s more, it is available through www.vetontheweb.co.uk. For more information about their website packages visit web design section.

A website must be dynamic, and give people a reason for returning time and time again. Only through choosing Vetontheweb.co.uk Ltd can veterinary practices achieve this.

The video below was a major breakthrough in driving our marketing strategy further, and we now have the capability of providing the same quality of streaming video on the websites of all our clients. The video can be controlled with the buttons on the screen.
