The main events were the Childrens’ Pet Show and the Photographic Competition. There was a huge response from the children. We had rabbits , guinea pigs, mice, hamsters, rats, dogs, cats, and even a pony and a salamander !!. Parents and teachers all mucked in to make this a great day for all. Elspeth Wood, teacher at Beancross Primary School deserves a special mention for coordinating all the activities within the school .
We are also very grateful for local photographer Paul Borg Grech who came to the event and freely gave his time to take all the photographs that you see at the side here : they all tell their own story
We also must say a big thank you to all the parents and teachers, not the mention all the practice staff .
A very big special vote of thanks must go to Ali Finlay, the boss’s wife who worked tirelessly throughout the day, organising the tombola and sweating it out in the Gerty the guinea pig suit. Gerty was a big hit with the smaller children by the way !!
The Pet Show was undoubtedly the most popular event. The photographic competition also received a lot of attention and we are grateful to Schering Plough for providing the funds to buy cameras to award the prize winners.
The Falkirk Herald reported the event.
