News Archive: Forth Valley Marketing Award 1998

In October David Finlay Pet Health Care Centres won the marketing category in The Forth Valley Enterprise Business Awards

To win the award we had initially to complete a very detailed questionnaire answering a wide range of questions such as :

Give a brief history of your company

Outline the significant activities undertaken in the category indicated.

What has the implementation of these ideas achieved for the company?

How have you measured the benefits gained?

Outline the reasons why you should win this award.

It was a very exciting time again for the practice and it took us a long time to fill in the form. We had shown however that in terms of marketing particularly within the veterinary profession we were well ahead of the game. And ss it turned out, we were ahead of all the other businesses who had entered in the marketing category.

The Loyalty Card definitely stole the imagination of the judging panel, as well as the fact that we were well up and running with our first practice website. We were also taking part in the Fort Dodge Index bench marking scheme and I think this was quite influential.

During the build up to the award ceremony a film crew came to the practice and shot a video. This was eventually presented on the night of the ceremony . We still have that video, which we have now streamed and put on the www.vetontheweb.co.uk website.

The ceremony itself was great and everyone from the practice including two guests were all present. Never to be forgotton.!

The award was a reward really for all the proactive marketing activity of the practice in the preceding year. It was so great to see what could be achieved with a little vision and a lot of hard work.!

Thanks to this award, the practice gained tremendous publicity, both in the local press and nationally, as a result of an article published in the Veterinary Business Journal

The video below was a major breakthrough in driving our marketing strategy further, and we now have the capability of providing the same quality of streaming video on the websites of all our clients. The video can be controlled with the buttons on the screen.
