In Feb 1985 the new Stenhousemuir surgery was established and opened at 176 King Street Stenhousemuir . As with the the Grangemouth surgery , this surgery was an immediate success . Many pet owners who would have normally had to travel all the way into Falkirk for veterinary treatment, could now have their pets treated on their doorstep. The premises in Kings Street had belonged to Mrs Braidwood, and had been trading as a corner shop, selling confectionary and groceries. The shop was in quite a dilapidated state, but David set to work on the building and very quickly we were up and running as a very effective veterinary surgery. Much of the work however was done on a shoe string budget, and even the outside frontage sign we did ourselves. David continued to run the 2 veterinary practices at Stenhousemuir and at Grangemouth himself. The pictures show the various aspects of the practice. You will note that Sandra Mcleary, who appeared in the previous news article also appears in these pictures. This was a very exciting period of the practice development
